How to Choose a Simultaneous Interpretation Translation Company?

Time : 2025-04-18Hits : 176

Simultaneous interpreting is a type of interpreting in which the interpreter translates in real time while the speaker is still talking, effectively conveying the content of the speech to the audience.

Key Factors Affecting Simultaneous Interpreting Prices

1. Meeting Specialization: For highly specialized meetings, such as those in medicine and mechanical manufacturing, organizers usually prefer interpreters with relevant industry experience. These interpreters are knowledgeable, highly qualified, and have strong adaptability, allowing them to provide high-quality services at a relatively higher cost. In contrast, for more general events like business activities and opening ceremonies, the requirements for interpreters are lower, resulting in more affordable prices.

2. Meeting Duration: When the meeting runs continuously and steadily, simultaneous interpreting prices often come with discounts to reflect the benefits of long-term cooperation.

3. Interpreter Supply and Demand: During peak periods for multilingual conferences, interpreter resources become scarce, and the rates for skilled interpreters tend to increase. It's recommended to book interpreters more than two months in advance to ensure the smooth operation of the conference.

Simultaneous Interpreting Prices

The prices for simultaneous interpreting services are influenced by various factors, including the interpreters' work experience, professional background, image and demeanor, the difficulty level of the meeting, the language pair, and the industry's peak and off-peak seasons. As a result, prices are not fixed and are generally quoted in real-time based on the interpreters' availability and field of expertise. Taking common English simultaneous interpreting as an example, the standard rate starts at approximately 4,500 yuan per person per day.

If the meeting exceeds one hour, at least two interpreters are required to take turns to ensure the quality of interpreting. Additionally, if the venue lacks simultaneous interpreting equipment, it will be necessary to rent the relevant equipment and pay the corresponding rental fees.
